Chapter Six

Demetrius couldn’t believe his luck. He had spent all his spare time with Titus trying to track down his mystery lady and she appears at his family’s restaurant when he was moving things around for his mother. Titus wasn’t going to believe it.

He leads her around to the front of the restaurant over to the podium where Elpida was controlling the seating. “Ebony this is Elpida. She has been working for my family at the restaurant since she has been a teenager. Elpida this is a friend of mine Ebony. Elpida, I’m going to take table twenty-six for breakfast.” Demetrius made the introduction between the two women.

Elpida looked up in surprise from where she was tracking the empty tables at the podium. Her eyes narrowed on Ebony. Ebony wondered if she was going to mention that Ebony had inquired about Demetrius earlier. She watched as Elpida turned a brilliant smile at Demetrius.

“Of course, Demetrius do you want me to join you?” She ignored Ebony’s presence.

Demetrius frowned surprised by the rudeness displayed by Elpida, “No thank you, Elpida, Ebony and I are going to have breakfast. We have some things we need to discuss.”

Elpida frowned at Ebony. Looking Ebony up and down. Ebony worked in a field dominated by woman and she had learned to recognize the body language of a woman who thought her property was being poached. Elpida wasn’t even attempting to hide the signs. The aggressive attitude she was displaying towards Ebony was a flashing warning sign. Ebony didn’t mention her earlier encounter. She had no claim on Demetrius and if Elpida felt that she was intruding on her territory then she had every right to warn other women off. Ebony would do the same.

“Well I am hoping that Ebony will become an important part of my life.” He said to Elpida. Ebony didn’t know if he was deliberately being obtuse to Elpida feelings for him or if he was such a man that he didn’t even realize that Elpida had feelings for him. Ebony didn’t take Demetrius to be a stupid man.

“So, is it okay that we take table twenty-six?”

“Yeah, none of your other family members are here at the moment.” Elpida looked at Demetrius. Her feelings for him obvious in her eyes for anyone to see. “My break is in ten minutes. I can join you then.”

“That’s okay.” Demetrius told her as he turned away gripping Ebony’s hand in his. Ebony saw the look of death that Elpida shot her way. Oh yeah, she definitely thought that Ebony was poaching on what was hers.

“Does your mother know about your guest?” Elpida inquired in a sweet voice. “I will be more than happy to send her over to your table.”

“Uh no, that won’t be necessary.” Ebony looked at Demetrius as the sound of his voice changed. It went from the deep bone shivering sexiness to a little squeaky at the mention of his mother.

“No…no it is the least that I can do. I want to make sure that she meets your friend.
